Contact about your information
RuralQuotes handles information submitted through this introduction service. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email quotes@ruralquotes.co.uk or use our contact form. Include your enquiry reference where available.
Information we collect
Enquiry forms collect your name, email, telephone number, property postcode and project or business information. Please provide only information relevant to your request and avoid including sensitive personal information. We also record the date, enquiry reference and version of the consent wording.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
For project introductions, we rely on your consent to review the enquiry, contact you about it and share relevant details with up to three independent contractors. Contractors may pay us an agreed fee for the introduction. A match or quotation is not guaranteed.
For contractor registrations and ordinary contact requests, our legitimate interests are responding to the request and operating the introduction service. Where you ask us to take steps towards a paid lead arrangement, we also use the information necessary for those pre-contract steps and the resulting contract. We use our legitimate interests to prevent abuse, secure the service and handle complaints. We retain records needed to meet applicable legal obligations where these apply.
Who receives your information
We use Cloudflare for website hosting, database storage and sending notification emails. Enquiry alerts are received in our iCloud-hosted business inbox. Relevant project and contact details may be shared with up to three independent contractors under the permission you give on the quote form. Those contractors are responsible for their own processing after receipt. We do not authorise unrelated marketing or resale of your details.
Our technology providers operate internationally and may process information outside the UK. Where required, transfers must use an applicable adequacy arrangement or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your request.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information while reviewing it, making introductions and dealing with follow-up questions. Retention is reviewed against whether the request is still active, whether an introduction or payment has occurred, and whether records are needed for a complaint, dispute or applicable legal requirement. Information that is no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised. Contact us to request deletion; we will explain any reason a record must be retained.
Optional analytics and browser storage
Analytics are off until you choose “Allow analytics”. If you agree, we count page visits, enquiry starts and form steps. We record a completed enquiry only after it is saved. We group traffic as direct, Google, Bing, social, referral or campaign. Campaign and medium labels and the landing-page path may be kept with a submitted enquiry so we can assess the source of useful leads. We do not collect advertising click IDs or send this information to advertising platforms.
Your analytics choice is stored in your browser for up to 180 days so we can respect it. With permission, campaign details are held in session storage for the current browser-tab session. Aggregate event counts do not contain names, contact details or visitor identifiers. They may include repeat visits and are not a count of unique people.
Use “Privacy settings” at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Declining stops future optional analytics and clears the campaign information stored for this tab. It does not change your ability to enquire. Previously collected aggregate counts cannot be linked back to you. If attribution was saved with an enquiry, contact us to request its removal.
Security
We use anti-spam fields and a daily changing hash of a network address to limit repeated enquiry submissions. The hosting platform also processes network and request information to operate and protect the service, and may use essential security cookies.
Your rights and choices
You can withdraw your introduction or analytics consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Ask us to stop further introductions by emailing your enquiry reference. You can also request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Some rights depend on the circumstances and lawful basis.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information is handled. You can contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.
